I am a believer that all students and should be treated with special respect and love.We have enough love to forgive them if they are not perfect, but love them enough to lead students as unique individuals.
As a teacher I know that there are two very important factors that play an important role in a successful class. The first is the emotional side and the second / performance ratio is achieved. It is very important in school, a relationship with each customer. I do this at the beginning of the year. I want to know what each student has a passion. For some, it’s skateboarding, it is for other sports, for others it is the family. Once I know what they’re excited, I’m sure I their passion as often as possible during the lesson in our content area.
Talk about the passion, it is also very helpful when I watch the hall between classes.If I specific behaviors that need to see change, it is much easier to start a conversation positive their individual passion. One should never underestimate the importance of a positive relationship with students and parents. You do not want your first communication with parents or students in a discussion. I appeal to all teachers contact the parents in the first three weeks of school. Positive contact at the beginning of the year, just to say that I am interested in your child goes a long way to the concept of employees to build a college education.
The emotional aspect of training is very natural and comfortable for me. Once I establish a relationship with parents and students, I know I’m on the right track. Now it is time to discuss the academic expectations and performance. I think my students need only beyond the point where they are challenged. The first thing I do is either formal or informal measures for formative assessment for each student. The use of formative assessment is used daily in my classroom. It is important to take this opportunity to let students know the results and the standards that we make for the school year and again before each unit.
Compliance with these standards is our primary goal. Then it is time to prepare for the trip of a lifetime. Think of the possibilities. Now that we know that the expectations will be high. It is very important to know in order to appreciate the journey, even if we have to the end in sight.
Most of our trips involve students in learning to engage in cooperative groups.Cooperation, leadership, communication, efficiency and accuracy: Here I am formative assessments, whether they use the meaning of understanding. If the emotional goals are met with academic goals, we have a perfect meeting of two worlds, and that alone is reward enough for me.
